Montevallo took down the top dog, UAH, this week, catapulting the Falcons right to the top. UAH drops back to the middle of the pack after their first GSC loss of the season.

The beginning of conference play has turned the GSC standings on their head. Last week’s standings leader West Alabama now sits in the middle of the pack at No. 8, while middle team (previously No. 6) Alabama-Huntsville (UAH) now floats to No. 1.

Montevallo has dropped to No. 11 after spending two weeks at No. 2 in the GSC standings.

Lee University takes the top spot in this week’s GSC Women’s Soccer Standings after starting in third. In Lee’s three-game history with Lenoir-Rhyne University, the Sept. 4 season opener resulted in Lee’s first win following two consecutive tie games, one in 2023 and one in 2024. This long-awaited win propelled Lee’s rise to first, replacing West Florida.

The University of West Florida is named the number one Gulf South Conference (GSC) women’s soccer women’s soccer team in the preseason coaches poll with 144 points and all 12 possible first-place votes.

As the 2024 women's college soccer season approaches, the first accolades and coaches polls are being released. The United Soccer Coaches released their first women's college soccer polls, covering the top 25 teams in Division I, Division II and Division III.

Powered by four second half goals, Mississippi College lifted the Gulf South Conference Championship trophy for the first time in program-history, following a 4-2 decision over Lee at the John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala.

Following a semifinal upset of top-seeded West Florida, the Lee Flames sit just one match away from the Gulf South Conference championship. Waiting for Lee, however, is a tough Mississippi College club, primed for Sunday's title showdown.

The Gulf South Conference women's soccer tournament will have a little Sunday fun day on Nov. 7, with the top eight seeds duking it out for a spot in the semifinals in Pensacola, Florida. The GSC overall was a strong conference this fall, with four teams notching 10 or more regular season wins.
