Montevallo took down the top dog, UAH, this week, catapulting the Falcons right to the top. UAH drops back to the middle of the pack after their first GSC loss of the season.

UAH stayed strong in the middle of the standings throughout the beginning of the season but shot up in the rankings after two back-to-back GSC wins against Lee (2–0) and Trevecca (2–0). Blanking two GSC opponents in one week showed the Falcons at their best.

Montevallo entered GSC play off two losses against ranked teams Florida Tech and Catawba College. Since then, they have not lost—even UAH couldn’t stop them. The first half left the board empty. Both teams looked for an entry point, and finally Montevallo found it in the 54th minute with a goal by Ayla Ertekin. The goal started the momentum for the Falcons, who followed the first goal up almost immediately and ended the game 2–0.

Lee won two games last week, including a 4–0 win over Auburn. The Flames kept their cool and played a steady game. They found two goals per half and simultaneously kept the Auburn offense at bay.
