The South Atlantic Conference announced its Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the eighth week of the 2022 season. 

Tusculum forward Taylor Youmans was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week, while Catawba defender Katie Beck was named SAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Youmans, a freshman from Newman, Georgia, led Tusculum to a 2-0 record last week with wins over Emory & Henry (5-1) and Newberry (1-0). 

She had an assist in the win over Emory & Henry and scored the game-winning goal with nine minutes left in regulation to defeat Newberry. 

For the week, Youmans had a goal and an assist for three points.

Beck, a graduate student from Clermont, Florida, led the Catawba Indians to a 1-0-1 record last week, with a 2-0 win over Limestone and a 1-1 draw with Carson-Newman. 

She scored the game-winner and assisted on the second goal against Limestone, and she anchored the defense against Carson-Newman.
