The South Atlantic Conference Announces Men's Soccer Players Of The Week

The South Atlantic Conference announced its Men’s Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the second week of the 2022 season. Mars Hill forward Peter Plougmand was named the offensive player of the week, while Catawba goalkeeper Zak Stiffler was named defensive player of the week.

Plougmand, a sophomore from Odense, Demark, led the Lions to a 1-1 record last week with a 5-1 win over King. He scored a hat trick in the win, including scoring the game-winner while earning six points.

Stiffler, a sophomore from Jacksonville, N.C., led the Catawba Indians to a 2-0 record last week with wins over Barton (2-1) and Belmont Abbey (1-0). He made six saves against Barton and recorded another five saves versus Belmont Abbey to finish the week with 11 saves and 0.50 goals against average.
