Emory University Soccer Powers Both Programs Into the Final Four
The Emory Eagles men’s and women’s soccer teams have each earned berths in the NCAA Division III Final Four for the 2025 season.

For the 2025 season, Emory University is making waves on both sides of the pitch. The Emory Eagles men’s and women’s soccer teams have each earned berths in the NCAA Division III Final Four — a major milestone for the program and a testament to sustained excellence across both squads.
Emory Women’s Soccer: Back-to-Back Final Four Appearances
The women’s squad — a model of consistency — secured its second consecutive trip to the Final Four and the third in program history. They punched their ticket with a gritty 1–0 win over Pomona‑Pitzer Sagehens in the Elite Eight at Alston Watt Field in Lexington, Virginia.
The lone goal came in the 17th minute when sophomore forward Mikayla Camp controlled a long feed from junior Jessica Nastasi and sent it into the back of the net.
Emory entered the Final Four with a stellar 20-1-1 record and set a program record with their 17th shutout of the season. Senior goalkeeper Sophia Garcia made critical saves — including three in the first half — to preserve the clean sheet.
With semifinal play set for December 4, 2025, Emory will face Tufts University Jumbos at Kerr Stadium in Salem, Virginia.
This deep run continues a pattern: following a dominant start to the 2025 season, the women sustained their high level and built on last year’s Final Four success.
Emory Men’s Soccer: A Historic First
On the men’s side, 2025 will go down in Emory lore. For the first time in program history, the Eagles secured a berth in the NCAA Division III Final Four.
Their path to the Final Four came after a tense 0–0 draw versus Dickinson College Red Devils on Nov. 23, 2025, culminating in a 4–3 victory in penalty kicks at Shellenberger Field in Lynchburg, Virginia. Junior goalkeeper Geoffrey Halpern and senior attacker Ignacio Cubeddu helped power the moment — Halpern helping secure Emory’s 10th shutout of the season and Cubeddu converting the game-winning PK.
The Eagles improved to a 16-1-4 record with the win, while Dickinson’s undefeated season (16-0-8) came to a heartbreaking end.
Emory now heads to Salem, Virginia for the semifinals, where they’ll meet Trinity University Tigers (of Texas) on December 5, 2025, at Kerr Stadium on Roanoke College’s campus.
What This Means for Emory University, A Program on the Rise
The simultaneous success of both men’s and women’s teams underscores a program-wide culture of excellence at Emory. For the women’s side, it’s another deep playoff run and a bid for their first national title. For the men’s squad, it’s uncharted territory — a program milestone and likely a boost for future recruiting.
For a school operating outside the Division I spotlight, these dual Final Four appearances shine a bright light on Emory’s commitment to high-level soccer across genders. It also reinforces the Eagles’ reputation as a perennial contender within Division III.
