NCAA D1 Women's Soccer Rankings: Week 8 Shakes Top 5

Week 8 of NCAA D1 women's soccer play shakes up the rankings. Virginia and Notre Dame stay strong as UCLA takes a hit. Check out the rankings.

The University of Virginia remains No. 1 in the NCAA D1 Women’s Soccer Rankings for the fourth straight week after improving to 10-0-1 with a 2-1 win over Virginia Tech. Notre Dame stays hot at No. 2, also holding a 10-0-1 record following a 3-1 win over Louisville.

Stanford holds at No. 3 after a quiet week, while Tennessee jumps to No. 4 after two SEC wins, beating both Georgia (2-0) and Ole Miss (4-1), improving to 11-1-1. Florida State also moves up to No. 5, still unbeaten after drawing RV Kentucky (1-1) and topping Texas (2-1).

UCLA suffered a 0-1 loss to Washington, dropping them five spots to No. 9. TCU’s slide was even steeper, from No. 7 down to No. 17, after a 1-3 loss to Colorado on the Horned Frogs’ home turf. Though, they followed the loss up with a 3-1 win over Iowa State. Texas Tech was the week’s biggest riser, climbing from No. 18 to No. 11 after blanking Oklahoma State 4-0 and Kansas 2-0.

As the postseason nears, the race for top seeds continues to intensify, with undefeated records and conference match ups shaping the top tier.
