Oklahoma Christian And Lubbock Christian Rise, DBU Tops LSC Standings

DBU extends its streak to six wins and No. 5 nationally, while Oklahoma Christian and Lubbock Christian climb the LSC standings in opening conference play.

Opening conference play reaffirmed what fans already knew: DBU dominates the field. The Patriots continued their winning streak for a total of six games, earning them the top spot in the LSC and No. 5 nationally.

Oklahoma Christian and Lubbock Christian both creep up the chart to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, after finding conference wins in week three.

Texas Woman’s stands strong, tying DBU with a six-game winning streak and an undefeated season.

Oklahoma Christian blanked St. Edward’s 2-0 in their LSC opener. The Eagles took six shots on goal versus St. Edward’s four shots, all of which were blocked by keeper Breanna Wooten. OCU’s Caid Jefferson netted a goal per half, securing the two-point win.

Lubbock Christian recorded an impressive 5-0 win against Sul Ross in an away game. The Chaps turned it on in the second half, scoring four goals. Leading forward sophomore Ella Spiller boasts the fifth-best shot accuracy in the LSC at 50 percent. The game was followed by a draw at Angelo State.

DBU beat Angelo State (2-0) and St. Mary's (3-0) in their LSC opener and have now blanked over half of their opponents this season. The wins not only maintained their spot at the top of LSC standings but have helped the Patriots climb the national NCAA DII rankings to No. 5.
