Stanford remains undefeated this season, replacing Vermont men's soccer at the top spot in this week’s United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll. The Cardinals snagged 200 points and eight first place votes. After two weeks at number one, Vermont’s win streak was interrupted by two 1-1 ties against American and Georgetown. This ultimately bumped them down to ninth in this week’s poll.

The Cardinals fought for a 1-0 shutout against UC Davis in the second half. The team began the season solidly in the middle of the pack at 13 in preseason. After a quick climb to fourth and now sitting on top, they refuse to be underestimated. 

For Marshall, consistency is key. As rankings change around them, they remain at spot two, waiting patiently to pounce. With a 1-0-1 season record, they have a lot more time to prove themselves.
