Emory & Henry’s Breanna Yarber has been named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the eighth week of the 2023-34 season, the Conference announced today.

Yarber, a sophomore from Meadowview, Va., averaged 30 points per game as Emory & Henry went 1-1 last week to open the new year. She set a new school record for points in a game on Wednesday with 38, eclipsing the previous program mark of 36 from 2001. Yarber also had seven steals, five rebounds and three assists to help secure the victory over Tusculum. In Saturday’s contest, Yarber notched a team-best 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to complete the double-double against No. 4 Catawba. She also had four blocks and two assists on the day.
