Wingate swept the awards as Sophia Husted was named the Offensive Player of the Week and Nicole Cristy was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Husted, a junior from Tjaereborg, Denmark, scored three goals Wednesday afternoon, leading the Bulldogs to a 7-0 victory over Bluefield State University. The game-leading three goals also marked her first career hat trick. 

Cristy, a senior from Indian Trail, N.C., anchored a Wingate defense that notched two more shutouts last week. The Bulldogs blanked Bluefield State 7-0, then shut out Anderson 2-0 Saturday for their sixth straight SAC shutout to move to 8-2 in league play. In addition, Cristy handed out three assists in the win over Bluefield State.
