Seton Hall Women's Basketball was picked fifth in the BIG EAST preseason poll, and the Pirates hope to return to the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.

Seton Hall Women's Basketball went 19-15 in 2022-2023 and nearly reached the third round of the BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament, before losing to No. 3 Creighton 75-74 in overtime. The Pirates then beat Saint Joseph’s in the WNIT, before losing to Syracuse in the second round. 

Coach Anthony Bozzella was hired in 2013 and has gone 190-127 at his alma mater. He has re-shaped the program to consistently compete for the postseason. 

This year will be challenging, as the Pirates must replace Lauren Park-Lane, who became the first three-time All-BIG EAST first-team selection and became the program's all-time assists leader. 

But helping fill the void is a A’Jah Davis, who transfers in from Northern Illinois, where she was a two-time All-MAC first-team selection and averaged 16.2 points and 12.4 rebounds. 

The Pirates were picked fifth in the BIG EAST Women’s poll, and Azana Baines was on the honorable mention All-Big East team. Baines is a member of Team USA’s 3x3 basketball squad. 

The schedule includes a trip to the Bahamas for the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship, which is streaming live on FloHoops and the FloSports app. The Pirates will play No. 21 USC on Nov. 20 and East Carolina on Nov. 22.

When Is The BIG EAST Women’s Basketball Tournament?

BIG EAST teams will compete to be the automatic qualifier for the 2024 NCAA Tournament beginning March 8 in Uncasville, Connecticut. The BIG EAST Tournament championship game is March 11. 

When Is The 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament?

Selection Sunday for the NCAA Women’s Tournament is March 17, 2024. The First Four will tip off March 20, with the Round of 64 beginning March 22.
