The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Women’s Soccer Players of the Week for games played in during the second week of the 2023 season. Coker’s Lilly Borgman was voted the Offensive Player of the Week while Wingate’s Katrine Thisgaard was voted the Defensive Player of the Week.

Borgman, a freshman from Varberg, Sweden, scored two goals and added an assist on the week to help Coker go 2-0. She scored one goal in the 3-2 victory over Francis Marion on Wednesday and followed with another goal and an assist to the game-winning goal in the 2-1 win over Tusculum on Saturday.

Thisgaard, a senior from Engesvang, Denmark, notched a pair of shutouts, going 180 minutes without allowing a goal in a pair of Bulldog victories. Thisgaard notched three saves to blank Lees-McRae, while piling up six saves in the shutout win over Carson-Newman.
